A new task force of local and federal law enforcement agencies have reopened the almost 14 year old murder investigation of Hip Hop icon Christopher “Nototrious B.I.G.” Wallace as a result of new leads that are being pursued to finally solve the mystery of who shot Biggie.
Retired LAPD officer, Russell Poole (who investigated on Biggie’s murder case) told CNN that he believes “Suge” Knight was the one who ordered a hit on Biggie’s life while he was in jail on a probation violation.
According to Poole, former LAPD officer David Mack was the one who allegedly helped with setting up the murder and a friend of Mack’s resembled a police sketch of the shooter. Mack’s friend, Amir Muhammad (a.k.a. Harry Billups), owned the same type of car that was used by the gunman who shot Biggie.
Mack was sent to prison for robbing a bank of $700,000 in 1997 while he was a police officer. He was released from prison in May of 2010.
Poole said he retired early from the LAPD, in part, because he was thwarted in following leads in the Smalls’ case involving police officers, some of whom worked off-duty for Death Row Records.
“I think I was getting too close to the truth,” Poole said. “I think they feared that the truth would be a scandal.”
I think we all believed Suge had something to do with it. I hope they finally get to the bottom of this so we all can get some answers.
