Usher has just been hit with a lawsuit by a college student at Morehouse College. Kameron Glasper is suing Usher because he ignorantly signed a contract with Legendary Poets Music Publishing, where he signed away half interest in songs he promised.
The suit filed Monday said Glasper was a “young, inexperienced college student, hoping to work in the music industry and was vulnerable” when he signed the contract on Oct. 30, 2009.
The issue is over a track titled“Monster” which is featured on Usher’s latest album Raymond v. Raymond. There are seven people credited for the song, but Glasper is not listed as one of them.
Glasper says Legendary Poets and its owners “took advantage of his age and inexperience.” He is asking that he be given 100% ownership of his songs and that Legendary Poets and its owners reimburse him for attorney’s fees.
