During the taping of Nelly’s VH1’s Behind the Music, Ashanti gives us a look into how she and Nelly first met. For years both Nelly and Ashanti have been keeping their relationship very hush, hush and under wraps. However, during the interview Ashanti gives a glimpse into their romance.
According to in an interview given to VH1, Ashanti said “The first time I met Nelly he asked me for my autograph, but I think he was being sarcastic and I remember writing it down on the program,” which was at the 2003 Grammy awards press conference.
Ashanti later mentions how she waiting awhile to give the country grammar rapper her number.
Personally, I think Nelly and Ashanti make a beautiful couple and Nelly seems to be happy with the current status of their relationship saying, “It’s not about how long it takes,” Nelly told Rap-Up TV. “I’m not a person that wants to get married more than once. If I’ma do it, I’ma do it. You’re dying if you leave me.”
Nelly’s Behind the Music will air Monday March the 7th on VH1 at 7pm
