According to a poll that was conducted by Public Policy Polling in Mississippi, it said that 46% of Mississippians believe that interracial marriages should be ILLEGAL! That’s right…they believe marrying outside of your race should be considered a crime.

To me it looks like Mississippi just can’t let ol’ Jim Crow go. The state is still stuck in the segregation era where whites and blacks couldn’t legally be united in marriage.

One commenter of the poll wrote “I believe God made us a different color for a reason and should be honored by not marrying outside of the race that God picked for me, however the color of one’s skin does not make him/her better than another color.”

It seeming like no matter how hard America progress beyond Jim Crow, we still can’t change the minds of some people and it seems like it may never change.
