Not sure if this is good or bad news…good news because we will actually have a season and it’s bad news because it will only be 8 games!
The NFL has announced a plan for an eight-game season. The NFL could implement the shortened season if the lockout is settled by mid-October. The longer the lockout between the owners and players continues, the more likely an eight-game season will happen. The NFL has stated that replacement players won’t be used. But the shortened season is not much of a better option. The eight-game season is a losing proposition for the players, owners and fans.
Eight games are simply not enough. Each game will be critical. Losing the first two games of the season could mean missing the playoffs. That will lead to many meaningless games around the league.
How do you guys feel about this? Would you rather have an 8 game season then no season at all?
