According to R. Kelly’s reps, the R&B singer underwent surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital Tuesday to have an abscess on one of his tonsils drained.
Kelly decided to see a specialist earlier on Tuesday complaining of a sore throat. Once results of his exam were read he was rushed to the hospital for surgery, reports CBS Chicago.
It’s uncertain when he can go back to performing, which would explain his missed show in Richmond, Va earlier this month where he cancelled three hours before the show. He may was trying to still do the show but was under too much pain.
Get well soon Kellz.
