According to Billboard.biz, Wayne is following in the The Throne’s footsteps with releasing his highly anticipated album The Carter IV to digital stores at midnight on this Sunday (August 28th) following his MTV VMAs performance. Tha Carter IV will be available at iTunes, Amazon.com and other digital outlets soon after Weezy leaves the stage.

Weezy’s album will drop in stores on August 29th as previously reported.

Lil Wayne spoke on releasing his album digitally saying, “I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilize such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others.”
