Family sources tell TMZ Whitney Houston did NOT die from drowning but rather from a mixture of prescription drugs (Xanax) and alcohol. According to L.A. County Coroner officials, there was not enough water in Whitney’s lungs to lead to the conclusion that she drowned.
Sources also tell TMZ that it was actually Whitney’s aunt, Mary Jones, who found Whitney’s body in the bathtub in her Beverly Hilton Hotel. She had laid out Whitney’s dress for the evening then left for about half a hour. When she returned and realized Whitney hadn’t come out of the bathroom, she entered and that’s when she found Whitney submerged under water. She pulled her out and immediately began administering CPR.
Whitney’s body is being flown to Atlanta as early as tomorrow on Tyler Perry’s private jet (pictured below).
Family sources are also telling TMZ that Bobbi Kristina almost drowned in the same hotel and on the same floor as Whitney did:
According to our sources, friends of Bobbi Kristina tried knocking on her door repeatedly Friday night … but she didn’t answer. We’re told they called security to get them to unlock the door and help them get Bobbi out of the tub.
Our sources say it happened on the same floor of the hotel where Whitney would be found dead the next day. We’re told the room Bobbi Kristina was in was booked under Whitney’s name.
Poor Bobbi Kristina has been hospitalized TWICE since her mother’s death and family members fear she could be suicidal. Bobby Brown flew to L.A. last night to be with his daughter.
My prayers go out to EVERYONE struggling to deal with Whitney’s death.
