Prison seems to be doing Ja Rule some good.
Ja Rule (born Jeffrey Atkins) is behind bars serving a 2 year sentence for gun possession and tax evasion at Mid-State Correctional Facility in Oneida, New York. Ja has made friends with two prisoners who were once very powerful men.
One of his new friends is an ex-New York State Comptroller named Alan Hevesi and the other is ex-Tyco International CEO named Dennis Kozlowski. Hevesi was convicted in a pay for play corruption scheme. Kozlowski was convicted of fraud and larceny involving more than $100 million in bonuses. Damn
His new jail friends, who he calls “Hevey D” and “Koz,” have urged him to pursue a higher education, and Kozlowski advised him to buy airline stock and study business.
“Outside, you don’t meet guys like this every day. This place is amazing,” Ja Rule told the New York Daily News during an interview.
“It’s funny,” Ja Rule said. “We’re from totally different walks of life. But when you’re here, you’re here.”

Ja Rule has decided to enroll in college-level courses which he will start later this month.
Although Ja isn’t scheduled to come home until February of 2013, but he’s gearing up for his new album, “Pain is Love 2,” to drop later this month. I guess he’ll be big boy’n the phone that week to do interviews.
