What caused 48-year-old singer Whitney Houston’s death on Feb. 11th? Well according to coroner’s officials, the cause of Whitney Houston’s death was accidental drowning, but heart disease and cocaine use were contributing factors.

The corner found cocaine metabolites in Whitney’s system, and it was listed as a contributing factor in her death. It’s being reported that Whitney used cocaine shortly before she drowned in the Beverly Hills hotel tub. Marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril and Benadryl were also found in her system, but did not contribute to her death. No foul play or trauma is suspected.
Pat Houston issued a statement on Whitney’s cause of death saying, “We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure”
