There were 15 McDonald’s employees who decided to do a lottery pool for chances of winning the record-breaking $656 million Mega Millions drawing on Friday. Three winning tickets were bought: one in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland. One woman in Baltimore claims to have won.
The woman the Baltimore McDonald’s employees delegated to purchase the tickets told her co-workers and a local newspaper that “she” had won the lottery. Now her co-workers are pissed!
“We had a group plan, but I went and played by myself. [The 'winning' ticket] wasn’t on the group plan,” McDonald’s “winner” Mirlande Wilson 37, told the New York Post on Sunday.
Mirlande Wilson’s boasts to a newspaper that she selected the ticket has caused ill-will at a McDonald’s in Westport, a section in Baltimore, Md., where she works. Wilson bought tickets for a pool of co-workers, but told the New York Post that the winning ticket she claimed to have purchased was bought separately.
