After Beyoncé’s “collapsing belly” during an Australian talk show interview, rumors started that Bey was actually using a surrogate mother to carry Baby Blue Ivy.

PEOPLE magazine asked Bey how did she feel when she first heard about the surrogacy rumors. She replied:

“That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy. [I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?’”

Grandma Tina was also affected by the rumors of her daughter using a surrogate. She addressed the rumors saying:

“I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months,” she says. ”As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”

“It was a fabric that folded — does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid.”

Grandma Tina noted that the love from Bey’s fans from all over the world helped with having to deal with such ridiculous rumors.

“There was so much love and well wishes from all over the world — it made it easier to deal with the stupid rumors.”
