R&B singer R. Kelly throat troubles have apparently come back to haunt him as he was forced to cancel recent appearances in New York due to a mysterious “health emergency.”

The 45-year-old singer was due to launch his book “Soulacoaster; The Diary of Me,” as well as appear on the ‘Today Show’ and the ‘Jimmy Fallon Show,’ but he ended up staying home in Chicago to rest.

Representatives for Kelly have stated that the book launch is postponed due to a health emergency that sidelined Kellz in Chicago.

Initial indications was that he was suffering from complications from a throat surgery he had last year to treat an abscess on his vocal chords.

It is unclear how long R. Kelly may be sidelined but with a hot new album out, Write Me Back (which dropped June 26th), we do hope that Kellz makes a full, speedy recovery.
