Jason Kidd should really look into investing in a driver!
Newly-signed Knicks point guard Jason Kidd was arrested for drunk driving early Sunday morning after crashing his 2010 Cadillac Escapade into a pole!
The 39-year-old basketball star slammed into a wooden utility pole, snapping it in two near his Water Mill home about 2 a.m. His knucklehead antics knocked out cable service to customers of his new boss — Cablevision and Knicks honcho James Dolan.
SMH. Luckily no one else was in the car and Kidd only suffered minor injuries.
Witnesses said the boozed-up baller sat there for about 45 minutes before cops arrived. The crash came just four days after Kidd signed a three-year, $9.5 million deal to bring his veteran leadership and point guard prowess to the Knicks.
Kidd was treated at Southampton Hospital and then hauled off to court where he faces a misdemeanor. He was released on his own recognizance after his Sunday morning arraignment.
“Jason has pleaded not guilty to a DWI charge and awaits further court proceedings,” said Kidd’s lawyer, Ed Burke Jr.
Sources tell TMZ he was spotted getting carried out the club right before he crashed his vehicle.
Damn Kidd. Not a good first impression on his new boss.
