Multi-platinum recording artist and former G-Unit rapper Young Buck was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday (July 13th) following a conviction on weapons charges. Originally, he was facing up to 10 years in jail, for being a convicted felon in possession of firearms and ammunition but he caught a break.
Buck agreed to a plea deal that would allow him to be locked up for 18 months of the 3 year sentence, after the IRS raided his home back in 2010, finding guns and bullets. Upon leaving the courthouse, Buck said this about his sentencing:
“With the judge not considering my history to subtract some time, I’m just thankful for what time I do have.”
Young Buck was also told by the judge that he must remain off of drugs and will be subject to court-ordered supervision for three years after he is released.
Despite the tough year he has had including being shot at and fighting bankruptcy, Buck remains positive, saying that:
“My pride is through the roof. My head is held high, and I’m just looking to get all this behind me.”
Keep your head up Buck!
