According to numerous sources, weeks after the Dallas Cowboys placed a tight leash around the neck of Dez Bryant following his legal trouble, the wide receiver is now close to a plea bargain after his lawyers met with the Dallas County District Attorney’s office this week.
Dez Bryant will plead guilty to a reduced charge of a Class C misdemeanor for Family Violence, stemming from an incident that happened July 14, where Dez allegedly assaulted his mother, Angela.
Angela Bryant wanted the charges dropped shortly after the incident as she and Dez appeared together at a news conference on July 24. Bryant was arrested and booked by Desoto police and was originally charged with a Class A misdemeanor that could have possibly come with a $4,000 fine and jail time.
The proposed deal which is very close to being accepted, is asking that Bryant admit his guilt in exchange for a reduced punishment, including no jail time, no probation, anger management and a $500 fine.
We’re hoping this situation gets resolved quickly so that his focus can go back to football!
